GED Program

Canton Public School District’s High School Equivalency Program (HSEP) is designed to support students who are at least one grade level behind. This program is open to Canton Public School District’s students who are currently enrolled in one of the district’s secondary schools. The program allows eligible students an alternative pathway to graduation by completing academic and career/technical hours and successfully passing all four parts of the GED.

To Qualify for This Program, Students Must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age;
  • Be at least one grade level behind;
  • Make a qualifying score on the entrance exam;
  • Receive a recommendation from the selection committee;
  • Receive parental consent;
  • Have no discipline records (can be overridden by the Superintendent).

The High School Equivalency Program is extremely competitive, and spots are limited. Students who qualify for the program are placed on a waiting list if the maximum number of students has been reached.
