What are the eligibility requirements for students to join National Beta?

The criterion for membership is decided by the individual club. Our national constitution states: The qualifications for membership on the part of the student shall be: (a) worthy, moral and ethical character; (b) exemplary achievement, and (c) commendable attitude. ...All students must be performing at or above grade level in order to be eligible for membership. Local school administrations are at liberty to limit membership to certain grades.

Canton High School Beta Club accepts members beginning with their Sophomore year. (10th-12th). Sophomore, Junior, and Senior level criterion allows Freshmen level students to work towards candidacy while in a high school environment. Freshmen GPA is evaluated at the end of the Freshmen year to determine Sophomore year qualification status.
