HPMS School Counselor

It is a great day to be a Huey Porter Middle School Tiger! My name is Veronica Smith, and I am your School Counselor here at HPMS. This is my 4^th year at HPMS and my 13^th year in education.  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you and your child to make sure they are successful academically, socially, and emotionally, while navigating life as a middle school student. I strive daily to meet the needs and encourage all of my students.

I completed my undergraduate studies at Grambling State University where I received a degree in Business Management with a minor in Business Education and my Masters in School Counseling from Alcorn State University. I come from a line of educators, so it’s truly my calling.
