Welcome to Mrs. Jenkins’ Exceptional Education Class. My assistants are Mrs. Doris Lewis and Ms. Gracie Sawyer.  We will be going on an awesome adventure as we move through the school year. We will be sharing many good times this year and making many good friends, too. In preparation for this year, the District has been preparing the teachers for the students. Teachers have received additional training to provide even higher quality instruction in our classrooms in lesson design and Common Core State Standards. We are doing this to accomplish our vision “Canton Can” by producing a learning environment to develop tomorrow’s responsible leaders. Being a Self-Contained teacher allows me to teach students who has more serious disabilities and may not be able to participate in general education programs at all. The goal of an effective self-contained program is to increase the amount of time that the student spends in the general education environment.
