GES “4 WEEKS” OF MAP SPIRIT
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is that time of the year to gear up for state testing! Our students will be taking state
assessments in ELA, Math, and 5th grade Science. As you know, this time of year can
be stressful for our students and teachers as they work to show proficiency and growth.
To get students and staff in the spirit of reaching their MAP goals, let’s have a little fun.
To kickoff each week of test prep, we will dress up on Mondays, reward students for
reaching weekly quiz goals and engage students in a little competition! Here are the
April 3rd Eye of the Tiger Day Wear you tiger print with a decorated tiger
eye to prepare for the MAP/MST!
Weekly Goal Incentive: Italian Ice
April 10th It’s WAR Against the MAP Wear camouflage everything to school to
wage war against the MAP/MST!
April 12th 3rd Grade MAP ELA Relay Race, 12:45 p.m.
Weekly Goal Incentive: Cotton Candy
April 18th I’m Famous Dress up as a superstar to show you will be
famous in your city for showing proficiency
and growth on the MAP/MST.
Weekly Goal Incentive: Fully Loaded Nacho Day
April 24th Wild, Wild GES Wear your wild, wild west gear to face off
with the MAP and MST.
April 26th MAP 4th - ELA Relay, 12:20 p.m.
April 27th MAP Math Scavenger Hunt, 12:30 p.m.
April 28th MST Travel Around the Room, 8:30 a.m.
April 28th GES School-wide MAP Rally, 12 p.m. and 3rd -5th Color Run to Run All Over the
MAP/MST, 1:20 p.m.
Note: Students are allowed to wear jeans on Fridays with school t-shirt, so they can be relaxed while taking their MAP assignment.
