CPSD Schools Closed For One Week

Dear Canton Public Schools Family,

Due to rapidly changing developments concerning the coronavirus, the Canton Public School District Board of Trustees and I have consulted and decided that it is in the best interest of our community to close schools for one week, March 16-20. At this time, students will not report to school until March 23, 2020. If this changes, we will update you immediately. The safety of our students remains our top priority. As this pandemic continues to evolve, we ask for patience as we revise our contingency plans to adequately respond to COVID-19.

Central Office directors, Central Office support staff, and principals will continue to work throughout the school closure to devise plans for continued student instruction. Principals will also send out helpful links to keep our students engaged and they will be posted on our website.

During this time, we are asking our school community to continue following the advice of the Mississippi Department of Health to assist in stopping the spread of the virus.
